Weekly Roundup 02: Patience is (sometimes) a virtue
Let's hear it for the parents
My mum came to visit this week. It was nice to talk (and talk and talk). It was nice to put my feet up for longer than 2.5 minutes. Mostly though, it was nice to see her play with her grandkids. Do all grandparents have these abilities? To meet a toddler's enthusiasm with an equally great sense of wonder? To not tire of reading the same books day after day? To meet question after question with gracious answer after gracious answer..? I just don't have the patience. I could learn a lot from her and her generation.
In sharp contrast, I'm watching Succession (who isn't?). Not content with the season 3 premiere this week, I've gone back to season 1 and started again. Try as I might to disapprove, I'm really just in awe of how fast Logan can shut down his kids with such efficient precision when they go off on one. When it's taking me 45 minutes to get out the door with 3 little ones at home, I feel like I could learn a lot from him too...

Sorting out picky eating. Nutritious recipes. Age-specific meal guides. Dallas-based registered dietician, Kacie, serves up so much reassuring, common sense advice for parents of young children. A whole lot more than fancy dress
East London's Bob and Blossom's gorgeous tutus are at almost cult status, and know first hand of children who, once in possession of these magnificent creations, refuse to take them off for days at a time. We're swooning over the mustard yellow one. While you're there, check out B&B's adorable 'pocket money toys', which do what they say on their gorgeous little tin.
Lights, camera, facecloth
When I tell you I spat my drink out. Big shout out to Top Dad Londie Murray who shared on Twitter the lengths he went to in order to get the perfect passport photo of his little one - this is the BTS content we love to see. Also delightful was the barrage of replies of equally creative efforts to get passport photos done over various lockdowns - when photos studios were often shut and the subject of the photo often didn't have the neck strength to hold their head up yet.
And finally... just cos
